Romero Directing Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things Remake

From moviesonline, You know what we need? We need us another remake of a classic low budget horror flick. Well boy oh boy are we in luck. Fearnet is reporting that George Romero is being tapped to direct the remake of Children Shouldnt Play With Dead Things which is being billed as the most violent and over the top zombie film yet.

If you are a zombie fan it should go without saying that you are a fan of George Romero’s. His early classic zombie movies are master pieces and although he has pumped out some .. well… CRAP lately with Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead and to a lesser extend Land of the Dead that does not take away from his legendary status to zombie fans like me. Here is hoping he delivers with this new zombie flick.

An interesting foot note is that Tom Savini who is easily one of the greatest practical special effects guys around will be reteaming with Romero to do the zombie effects. Tom Savini has worked with Romero plenty over the years and even directed the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead which for me is easily one of my top 4 zombie movies of all time.

Another interesting footnote: This low-budget zombie movie is the third film of director Bob Clark, later becoming famous for directing the films Black Christmas, A Christmas Story, and Porky's. (From wikipedia)
