From slashfilm, Legendary horror filmmaker George Romero (Night of the Living Dead) insists that Zombies can’t run.
“The dead can’t run. Their ankles would break. It doesn’t make sense to me,” Romero told NWA. “The dead move slowly. But they keep coming.”

He can explain that to the zombies running after him.
Yeah whatever Zombie. What the hell do you mean "Their ankles would break"? He just asserts that as if it was a fact. Just because one ceases to live doesn't necessarily mean that their bones turn brittle. Perhaps the decayed zombies crawling out of the ground might run into such problems but you're gonna have to do better than that.
I understand he's saying so out of respect for Romero and I don't want to get into the whole slow zombie vs. fast zombie thing yet again... (but there's just no way slow zombies could plausibly take over the world and everyone knows this deep down inside!)
Whoops. I totally misunderstood. I thought it was about Rob Zombie... All due respect George.
also, who's saying they're actually dead anyway? not danny boyle.
they're not dead. just pissed.
