Troll

(1986) **

The Potter family moves into an apartment complex in San Francisco. Little Wendy Anne chases her rubber ball down into the basement and gets trollified. The trollified Wendy then begins trollifying the other wacky residents of the apartment (played by recognizable actors of the era). Fortunately one of these residents may hold the secret to how to vanquish the troll and return life to normal. If only we cared.

What am I doing reviewing a horror movie in May, you ask? You know very well: I am reviewing this horror movie so that I may watch and review Troll 2, touted as a candidate for worst movie ever made. So yeah, this is a total throwaway review and should be ignored accordingly.

As the two star rating indicates, Troll was "pretty lame;" the troll effects were ok-ish; the special effects were poor; acting and dialogue poor; plot predictable; some ok-ish attempts at humor; no gore or, really, horror. But I wouldn't call it boring, nor the worst movie ever made. I've definitely seen worse, and I haven't even seen Troll 2 yet. This weekend maybe?

Yay! to reviewing movies off-season. Excellent droll summary. I think "ok-ish" should be added to the vernacular, along with "Boom Boom" and "blandwich."

I also think everyone should try to review a movie this month. How 'bout it? Any random movie you happen to watch. Just one in the whooole month.

I'm all for it Octo I miss the reviews.

Nice review AC you summed up the tone of this film perfectly. Can't wait to read your Troll 2 and Wiz reviews as well.

"gets trollified"? How does this happen? I'm intrigued! Oddly enough, just last night I copied Troll and Troll 2, but I'll save them for Horrorthon 09. I love the idea of reviewing a random movie this month! Actually, last night I watched one...

I'm going to have to check out this Troll series. I've always thought Return to Salem's Lot was the worst movie ever made.
