"Transformers 2" Dominates in UK and Japan


From worstpreviews, Michael Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has already been released in two foreign markets, opening in first place in the UK ($14 million) and Japan ($6 million) during the weekend for a total of $20 million from 846 theaters.

The sequel has outperformed the original's opening weekends by 71% in the UK and 13% in Japan, according to Paramount Pictures. "Revenge" is set to open worldwide on Wednesday (June 24th).

The new film is performing very well in advance ticket sales, outselling both the original movie and "Star Trek," which is currently the highest grossing film of 2009.
