Boring Clash of the Titans remake news

From darkhorizons, Spain's Canary Islands are about to go Greek - mythical Greek that is.

Cultura y Espectáculos reports that the archipelago off the coast of North-West Africa is set to be used for portions of the filming on the Louis Leterrier-directed remake of 1981's "Clash of the Titans".

The filmmakers have been scouting locations around two volcanic national parks in Tenerife and Lanzarote and have already been granted permission to shoot from the local government. Leterrier is expected to visit the locations before year's end to make the final approval.

The last American productions to utilize these locations to any serious extent was when Raquel Welch famously slipped on a fur bikini for "One Million Years B.C." in 1966.

Other location shooting on the $80 million project is expected to take place in Ethiopia, Iceland and London. Around a month of the twenty week shoot will take place on the islands around May-June next year.

That story has all the makings of a massive hit if they did it right with today's cgi. Oh well.
