Savage Weekend

(1976) **

Five unlikable characters, including an arrogant businessman and his girlfriend, another uninteresting couple, and a gay guy called, “Mother Nicky” travel to upstate New York to check out the progress of a large boat that is being refurbished for Mr. Arrogant. Once they reach their destination we’re introduced to a few other uninteresting characters including J. F. Sebatian from Blade Runner as the semi-retarded boat refurbisher. For most of the film this group of jerks screw around, and I mean screw around. It doesn’t take much to get these women topless, which they are in many scenes. I mean, jeez, can’t a guy enjoy a horror movie without breasts being thrust into his face scene after scene? Do I really need to see that while I’m trying to follow the plot of a bad movie? My God, put your clothes back on ladies. As I was saying, these jerks frolick around, drink, screw, fish, screw, explore, screw, etc. Did I mention that they screw a lot? Finally at the 50 minute mark a masked killer shows up and starts killing everyone. It’s not too difficult to figure out the killer’s identity since it ends up being the only person introduced at the beginning of the movie that is not seen again until the big “reveal”.

A terrible movie with a made-for-TV feel. In fact, I thought it was made-for-television until all those pesky bare breasts kept showing up. Terrible.

Savage Weekend also features the actor who played Dr. No-Head from Re-Animator. He plays "Mac." Kind of hard to recognize him with all the hair.
