From slashfilm, I was able to ask producer Charles Rovan about the current status of the big screen adaptation of The Flash while I was at the press junket for The Dark Knight.
“We had hoped to be able to get a new draft going before the writers’ strike and we weren’t able to,” Rovan admitted. “And since the writers’ strike, we just haven’t been able to find the right creative compatibility between what we’re looking for and a writer and you know, we’re a little bit dragging our feet, we’re just waiting to see what’s going to happen with this actor’s strike, you know.”
It has since been reported that DC is taking Warner Bros to task for the current state of their upcoming film properties, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the project is all of a sudden given the fast track.

Reporter: So what is your super-power?
Flash: I run really fast.
(long silence)
Reporter: Oh! I'm sorry, I thought you were going to continue...so, you run fast?
Flash: Really fast, like speed of light fast.
Reporter: So you can get to the scene of crimes quickly, what do you do when you get there?
Flash: Um....run some more.
Reporter: Thanks for your time, I think we're gonna go with the 3 year-old who can name all the countries on the map story.
That's really funny! I always thought The Flash was kind of a lame character. I bet he's an awful lover.

I bet they are. Marvel is kicking their butts (except for Batman, of course).
