Drive Thru

(2007) *

This movie requires little to describe it. Annoying teenagers, annoying killer (see above image), unimaginative plot rip off, and stay tuned for the equally terrible sequel (yup, it sets itself up for one at the end). If you don’t plan on watching it keep reading, otherwise, you should stop here.

SPOILERS…SPOILERS

A girl receives secret messages from a Ouija board, a magic eight ball, and an Etch A Sketch giving her clues to the identities of the next dumb teenagers to die. Why and how is she getting magical messages from the killer clown (who, by the way, is more annoying than the teenagers that you can’t even root for them to die because you will be forced to endure his obnoxiousness)? That’s easy, he is a ghost clown. Apparently, the girl’s mother along with her pot-smoking friends killed this boy back in the day and now he wants revenge by murdering all of their kids…hmm, sound familiar. And that’s about all this film has to offer, except for the inappropriate food jokes at Hella-Burger, the fast food joint that the ghost clown used to be the mascot for, and the chubby cop who can’t ever do his job right because he’s always thinking about a burger. This is all supposed to add good humor, but fails miserably.

"... and the chubby cop who can’t ever do his job right because he’s always thinking about a burger." I could watch a 12 hour miniseries based on that one sentence.

I loved that same line, JSP! I can't tell you how many times I almost watched this on "watch instantly". I'm glad you took one for the team, WG!
