My Mom's a Werewolf

(1989) Zero stars

Leslie is an unhappy wife because her husband barely acknowledges her. While out doing errands one day she meets sunglass-wearing John Saxon in a pet store. When he shows her his (creepy red) eyes she falls under his spell and he bites her foot. Soon she begins going through a bizarre transformation. She wakes up with fangs and she is starting to grow hair all over her body. Meanwhile her (annoying, horror movie fan) daughter, Jennifer, suspects that she is becoming a werewolf. With the aid of a fortune teller, Jennifer sets out to stop her mother’s lycanthropy before it can not be reversed.

I have always been baffled by the popularity of 80s monster comedy movies (see also Teen Wolf and Monster Squad). Low budget, poorly acted, and awful in their execution somehow these films turned a profit (*cough* kids are stupid *cough*). This must be the least known 80s film and I only stumbled across it as part of a 50-pack (when will I learn?). Soul-suckingly stupid, there is nothing to enjoy here, which is why I’m done talking about it.

Oh yeah, she's also in it, which is all you need to know.

"Soul-suckingly stupid," ouch!

I can never tell if I like or hate John Saxon, but his presence is hardly a guaranteed stamp of quality. Often it's the opposite.
