That person is playwright Michael Goldenberg. With credits like Christian Slater rom-com "Bed of Roses", Jodie Foster sci-fi drama "Contact", 2003's big-budget version of "Peter Pan", and next year's adaptation of beloved child's story "Where the Wild Things Are" on his resume, the man has got the talent to handle it.
Of course Potter fans are rabid for every new bit of information, and now Goldenberg has happily complied with an extensive and exclusive interview over at The Leaky Cauldron. Seems a report with all sorts of wild claims surfaced early in the week and Goldenberg sets it all straight, along with revealing some new stuff. In the interview he goes into detail about his worktime with J.K. Rowling, the cuts that had to be made to the various sub-plots from the book, why he's suited to adapting this book in particular and so on.
Check out The Leaky Cauldron for the review.

Contact, eh? Then I guess in the end the aliens will just look like his dad.
