British author JK Rowling's seventh "Harry Potter" book may not be the last we read of the teenage wizard - she is planning another installment in the fantasy franchise.The seventh novel "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows" hits bookstores on July 21st, and while Rowling has always insisted it would be the last chapter of the phenomenally successful series - she is now considering an eighth book.
Rowling says, "I might do an eighth book for charity, a kind of encyclopedia of the world so I could use all the extra material that's not in the books."Christopher Little, representative for Rowling, said she has "retained all the rights in the 'Harry Potter' series," including any companion books "which she may indeed write herself."
Rowling is reportedly planning to use her background notes from the past 10 years to write an encyclopedia on the world of Harry Potter. The book would cover "historical" figures, including the founders of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, and present elaborate genealogies of the main

Could be fun. I have one of the mini HP reference books that came out between books 4 and 5. They're written by Rowling and meant to be Harry's actual book. The best part are the notes scrawled in there by Harry and Ron.
I wonder if this is a springboard for a new HP series later; I've often wondered if she would stick to the seven books, given how much money could be made.
Of course, British TV likes to run shows with specific endings; maybe that trend will apply here.
