Movie studios continue to hate Woody

From dark horizons, "Match Point" may have revived his career, but it was only a temporary reprieve for Woody Allen.

"Scoop," his effort last year starring Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson, failed to get a UK release despite the talents involved.

Now according to UK Teletext, his new film "Cassandra's Dream" - which was available in Cannes - has also failed to sell not just in Blighty, but all over.Described as "an even more sober affair than Match Point," it stars Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell and Tom Wilkinson.
Rumours persisted about a US deal throughout the week, but nothing concrete was finalised as the festival closed.

Sad. His problem is that he's so prolific that people take him for granted. When was the last time you were fired up by a new Woody Allen movie?

True. Matchpoing was good, although derivative of Crimes and Misdemeanors. I like that this one is supposed to be even darker than Matchpoint.

I hated Match Point and loved Scoop.

I never saw Scoop but heard the opposite.

Besides, I was referring to Matchpoing.

The last movie I saw of his was Anything Else, about a loser who's stuck in a horrible relationship with a total hottie. Coincidentally, I saw that movie with a total hottie who shortly afterwards left me for her old boyfriend.

Clearly it was the movie's fault, which means I hate Woody Allen too.
