Midnight Meat Train crashes

From moviesonline, Feign shock. After Midnight Meat Train got the bums hustle into about 100 cheap theatres scattered around the US and Canada it managed to be a box office bomb. Imagine that. It managed to bring in $32,000 according to HorrorMovies.ca. Although horror fans have been dieing to see the movie and reviews for it have been good it still was only given a very limited theatrical release. Lionsgate is known for being innovative and taking risks but for some reason with Midnight Meat Train they were not.
Directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (formerly attached to direct has been Patrick Tatopoulos) the grisly suspense/thriller feature is based on Clive Barker's best selling short story. "'Midnight Meat Train' is one of my most treasured stories. Fans have been clamoring for years to see this film made and now with Lakeshore's and Lionsgate's help, we will deliver this grisly story to the screen," said Barker. Jeff Buhler wrote the screenplay for the movie.
Next stop, death. When his latest body of work - provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants - earns struggling photographer Leon Kaufman (Bradley Cooper) interest from a prominent art gallerist (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space.

Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon’s obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters - ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways imaginable. With his concerned girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) fearing for his life, Leon’s relentless fascination with Mahogany lures him further and further into the bowels of the subways and ultimately into an abyss of pure evil - inadvertently pulling Maya right along with him.

I would not have pegged Brooke Sheilds for "Midnight Meat Train."
