Duo to pen 'Poltergeist' remake

From variety, MGM has scared up the scripting team of Stiles White and Juliet Snowden ("Boogeyman") to pen its remake of "Poltergeist."
Studio's seeking a director for the project.

The 1982 horror pic, based on a script by Steven Spielberg, Michael Grais and Mark Victor, was directed by Tobe Hooper and starred JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson. It spawned two sequels, released in 1986 and 1988.

White and Snowden are specialists in horror projects. They co-wrote "Knowing," starring Nicolas Cage and directed by Alex Proyas, for Summit, and "The Birds" remake for Universal. They recently completed "A Good and Happy Child" for Paramount Vantage.
