Usher JPX

What a thrill that gives me.

That is, the thrill of seeing free movies at Showcase. Seems like I didn't pay admission there for the better part of a decade.

When JPX first got that job I was delivering pizzas for Cisco's pizzas down the road (the pizza joint is still there, although it's called something else). I would bring extra, unclaimed pizzas to the theater whenever I could disappear one without the manager noticing.

There's really nothing like the satisfaction of surprising someone with free pizza. Good times.

I agree, there's nothing like a surprise pizza! That usher outfit was hot, man, with no discernible air cirulation. By the end of a "double" shift, I had to literally peel my shirt off, yuck!

Over the years Octo would become increasingly brazen when I would sneak him into movies. At first he would bring like one friend along, but I recall times when he'd show up with a party of 6 and I had to figure out a way to get them all through. It was worth it. Free pizza.

To this day it aggravates me that I can't see movies for free. Luckily I picked up a thing or two about sneaking into movies and when the mood strikes me I go for it. About 3 years ago I made a pact with myself to see every summer movie for free. I managed to get through the entire summer without getting caught once. The best tactic? Pretend you're talking on a cell phone as you walk past the usher. For some psychological reason I'll never understand, people won't bug you if you're on a phone. I found that this also works if you're on a train and the conductor is trying to collect the fare.

JPX you can come with us for free sometime if you like, I still have an in with my son. Although it doesn't match the thrill of getting away with sneaking in for free.

I think I was the worst usher that ever worked there. I used to make lists of rules I broke during shifts that would have gotten me fired. If you only knew...

This pic is awesome! I wish I had known you as an usher. Maybe you could get a part-time job at the theater so I can see you looking cute in your uniform.

...and you could get us free movies, popcorn, soda, candy...
