Uwe Boll update

There are a number of German directors known for being a bit — how to put this? — eccentric: Werner Herzog, Marcus Nispel, Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Ah, but the self-aggrandizing Uwe Boll takes the ticket. With a predilection for making mind-numbing movies based on videogames (BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark), he has been both hailed as the second coming of Ed Wood and derided as a loudmouth hack. Last year, he even challenged a handful of Boll-busting movie critics to a boxing match. Lesson learned: Nope, he still can't direct — but the dude packs a mean punch.

And just when you thought Der Burgermeister of Crazystadt couldn't get sink any lower... well, he just did. As seen in this clip from his upcoming comedy Postal (yup, based on another videogame), Boll attempts to make funny with a window washer, the World Trade Center, and 9/11. Aw, Uwe, how could ya?
Gutsy comedy or hitting below the belt — what do you think?

He looks like Mickey Dolenz in that picture. With a big Mickey Dolenz smile.

Carrying a leopard around is something I could see Mickey Dolenz doing.

That pic is photoshopped, right? His head seems far too large. So maybe that is Mickey Dolenz carrying that leopard.

My problem with the Trade Center thing isn't that he did it, it's that the joke is so low-rent and devoid of personality. That's the main problem with Boll, he writes his ideas on cocktail napkins and then never fleshes them out any further. At least Ed Wood had a love of story propelling him.
