Dracula to suck again
Ernest Dickerson ("Bones") will direct "The Un-Dead," the officially sanctioned sequel to Bram Stoker's "Dracula" reports Variety.Based on a novel written by Stoker's great grand-nephew Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt, the story picks up twenty-five years after the original book.Plans are afoot to re-publish the original Stoker work in its original form. Some of the excised plot was incorporated into the sequel book and will be used as plot in the new film. Jack the Ripper and the infamous Madame Bathory make an appearance in "Un-dead". Holt wrote the script and production will begin in Eastern Europe late in the year.

They're not talking about the Coppola disaster as officially sanctioned, are they? I mean, was it? It had Stoker's name in the title but then veered waaaaay wide of the mark.
That was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It baffles me that so many people were gulled into thinking it was any good.
The Bela Legosi Dracula (which, if you haven't seen it, is ridiculous) is a paragon of accuracy and fidelity compared to Coppola's version. All those idiots seemed to think that Coppola had "invented" the sexual subtexts in the vampire story.
The Coppola movie's script was written by James V. Hart, who also brought us Hook, easily the worst Spielberg by a wide margin. I'm so glad we've heard the last of that vomitous screenwriter. "What if Peter Pan grew up?" ("What if I punch you in the face?")

LOL
I'm with you, Jordan, I hated that movie but I love the original Legosi one. I watched it with commentary and it was fascinating.
