Is nothing sacred?

From bloody disgusting, One of my favorite horror movies of all-time is Dario Argento's Suspiria, which was announced to be remade over a year back. At some point along the time line the remake was nixed and considered dead in the water... that is until this year's Cannes. New Italian production outfit First Sun has acquired the rights to remake Dario Argento's classic 1977 horror movie "Suspiria" as an English-language film, according to Variety. Read on for the story.

With the original is screening Friday at Cannes to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release, the announcement came at the perfect time.

First Sun has been founded by director Luca Guadagnino ("Melissa P."), fashion designer Silvia Venturini Fendi and producers Carlo Antonelli, Marco Morabito and Massimilano Violante. The company says it will develop films with an international scope, inspired by the golden age of Italian filmmaking." 'Suspiria' has a unique style that we want to reinvent for today's generation," Guadagnino said. "We intend to create a concept that will encompass cinema, videogames, fashion and music and that revives the original for those who did not experience it. The Gothic resurgence is very strong around the world at the moment ... and we feel that a new version of 'Suspiria' will fit very well."

The only question is can they make it better than Lucky McKee's The Woods?

I can't say for sure but that might be the recipe for the biggest load of confusing crazy crap we'll see all year. Think the musical number in Suicide Circle.
