Sucky movie idea alert

From syfyportal, What are the big plans with the X-Men franchise now that some of the ideas have floated off into spinoff movies?

Zak Penn, who brought fans "X-Men 3," says he's working on a new concept for the franchise that could be a few years away, but could also be a very interesting turn in regards to our favorite mutants-not-on-NBC.

The original idea was to have me do a young X-Men spinoff, a spinoff of the young X-Men characters," Penn told the Cinematical Web site. "But someone came up with a pretty interesting idea which I can't discuss. I was pretty taken by it, as was the studio. I have to give him credit, it was this guy who worked ... a lot with me on 'X3.' He came up with how to do a young X-Men movie, which is not what you'd expect. We'll see."

How long it will take to see, however, is the real question. Penn said that he's still trying to work with Twentieth Century Fox about the overall story that he's set to both write and direct, and it could take up to two years just do that.

"Put it this way, if you agree to do one of the X-Men movies, it could end up happening four or five years down the line," Penn said. "Which is fine with me. It's just not my focus right now."

Hey! It need not be sucky. A Power Pack movie would be, but that's not what they're talking about.

They should just make a New Mutants movie. Not with the old NM characters, necessarily, but…New Mutants! Could there be a better title?

Maybe it’s a better band name…
