From darkhorizons Robert De Niro and Al Pacino will star together for the first time since "Heat" in Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films $60 milllion crime thriller "Righteous Kill" reports Teletext.Jon Avnet ("Entrapment") directs and Russell Gewirtz ("Inside Man") penned the story, which pairs the stars as detectives on the trail of a serial killer.
"This was one of the hardest deals we've done," producer Randell Emmett said.
"When we realised we had a chance to get them together we leapt at it."
The two-month shoot begins August 6th in Connecticut with follow-up information in New York City.

I don't doubt they can pull it off onscreen, but that picture makes them look like a pair of muppets that were left in a storage closet for about eight years.
