That's not to say that I dislike the original. I haven't seen it in a long while, but I remember it being really solid. I guess I really just don't love it enough to be all fire and brimstone on the idea of remaking it...
If you don't know about the flick, it's about a group of young cadets who overtake a military academy in order to keep it from being demolished and turned into a condo.

This is Tom Cruise's debut!
Interesting that it's the only movie he's in where he's not the star. That's success.
(Okay, The Outsiders; sue me.)
I wonder if Octopunk would've defended Barrington High School with such passion?
I'd be the one setting up the explosives.
I’m not sure what’s weirding me out more: that they’d choose to remake a movie about kids taking over their school with guns in a post-Columbine world, or that in real life a military school is less likely to have a Columbine-like incident because the kids there have a more realistic attitude about guns.
Am I right about that? I’m speculating again, like I did on China. Maybe it’s just because they’d be able to return fire.
Ted Nugent and the rest of the gun nuts' immediate response to the Virginia Tech tragedy was "if the students/teachers were carrying guns, the massacre would have been averted".
