Megan Fox's "Jennifer's Body" Bombs at the Theaters

From worstpreviews, Sony Pictures Animation's "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" dominated the domestic weekend box office by bringing in over $30 million and becoming the studio largest opener since "Open Season" back in 2006.

Part of the film's success can be attributed to opening in 1,828 3D theaters (a record), where ticket prices are higher. "Cloudy" also brought in $2.5 million from 127 IMAX locations.

Matt Damon's "The Informant" took second place with $10.5 million, which is nearly three times less than "Cloudy." Tyler Perry's "I Can Do Bad All by Myself" followed closely with $10.1 million.

Jennifer Aniston's romantic comedy "Love Happens" did modest business with $8.5 million, taking fourth place. And the worst out of the new wide releases turned out to be Megan Fox's horror/comedy "Jennifer's Body," which brought in an unimpressive $6.8 million to take fifth place. The film is barely on track to make back its $16 million budget.

I'm so happy that I learned about Megan Fox' and Diablo Cody's total failure while re-watching Ghost World, a movie that's like the complete 100% opposite of everything those two frauds stand for.

In related news, the sun is still hot and grass is green.

I'm with you. The more I read about her the more its clear that she's a nut-job. She seems like a completely unpleasant person.

No, it actually could have done well. And then we'd have that fucking girl making "sexyface" on every magazine cover for even longer, and Diablo "honest to blog" Cody in our faces some more. This is much better.

I don't care about her being a nut-job; there are lots of spectacularly talented nut-jobs (to varying degrees of unpleasantness): Mickey Rourke, Prince, Russell Crowe (sort of); etc. etc. The problem with Megan Fox is that she sucks. You're not getting any payoff for putting up with her nonsense. And I hate the way she looks (and I've got no problem with female movie stars whose appeal is mostly or totally based on their appearance).

I saw Transformers and I was totally astounded by how awful she is; how she makes Jessica Alba look like Meryl Streep in comparison. And, the whole Megan Fox enterprise is ultimately so cynical and cheap; the magazine covers and the internet "news" items and the photo spreads and her constant "sexyface" posing; it's like we're all living in a Michael Bay movie rather than just having to watch one.

I mean, Jessica Biel; Evangeline Lilly; Jessica Alba; Scarlett Johannsen (not to mention Knightley, Jolie etc.) these are pretty girls, you know? They look alive; they look fun. Megan Fox is like a transvestite's idea of what to look like and how to behave. The whole thing is just an utterly joyless experience.

I'm waiting for somebody to go "Gee, Jordan, tell us what you really think" or some such sarcastic remark. I don't care. Beautiful women are to movies as eggs are to breakfast; I hate to see the whole thing given a bad name.

Jeez, Jordan, duh bluh bluh duh bluhbluh bluh.

Dude, I totally agree with you. Megan Fox is like a Todd McFarlane action figure. At first glance you might go "oh, damn, that's totally awesome" and then two beats later you feel embarrassed about your enthusiasm because it's clearly not that great.

That cheerleader picture is a good example; all the curves seem technically correct, but there's just no poetry to the experience.

I feel bad for Diablo Cody, however. I liked Juno a lot and I heard the script for Jennifer's Body was good.
