"But as a half human, Spock, surely you can appreciate the suffering that hard drug abuse causes."
Causes? That should be relieves. Oh, snap! I went there. Now hand me that pipe.
From the Youtube info:
"Slide show of a Star Trek cast PSA from a mid-Seventies anti-drug PSA LP entitled "Get Off." The album, produced by the National Association of Progressive Radio Announces, Inc., also features PSAs by Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, Ringo Starr and Phil Ochs among many other ironic talent choices. The front cover the LP features an extreme close-up of a hypodermic needle and the back cover shows outstretched fingers toward the sun. The covers open up in a gatefold which must have been convenient for Seventies DJs who were tired of using "Blonde on Blonde" to de-seed their stash."
That explains the weird choice of images.
It seems impossible to make a PSA warning people about vices that doesn't come off completely square.
