Separated at birth 2
The 'clean up Mel Gibson's image' roadshow continues this week with a report in The Daily Telegraph citing that Malibu's favourite detainee is believed to be in discussions to join a revival of the "Lethal Weapon" film franchise.
The paper's Sydney Confidential section cites industry insiders suggesting he is set to jump on board for "Lethal Weapon 5", which would be the final instalment of the franchise - "It wouldn't hurt on the PR front to give fans another Lethal Weapon" one source said.
The fourth film in the series, released back in 1998, was highly publicised as being 'the final instalment', but in 2004 Gibson knocked back a whopping $40 million offer to reprise his role of Martin Riggs.
Gibson's schedule has cleared in the wake of the PR ruckus over his arrest the other week, and there's industry speculation that his "Apocalypto" drama may be delayed til next year to distance itself from the media hoopla. The only barrier to his involvement appears to be possible jail time if found guilty of driving under the influence.

They'll probably reveal that Joe Pesce's character is Jewish, and it'll be a big deal that Riggs doesn't like gefelte fish, and then he tries it and he does!
