More on that awesome Blade Runner DVD news!

The Blade Runnner 5 Disc special edition features are available now via our compadres at ObsessedwithFIlm. The film was recently doing some re-shoots for the new DVD Release.

Disc 1 - The Final Cut (2007):
Ridley Scott’s definitive new version. Deleted and extended scenes edited into the film, extra dialogue, better - and sometimes just plain new -special effects.



Disc 2 - Three Complete Versions of the film:
The 1982 US Theatrical version
The 1982 International Theatrical version
The1992 "Director’s Cut”



Disc 3 - Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner
A newly minted documentary. Described as "mainstream-friendly yet meaningful”. Will cover everything from the birth of Dick’s original book to the legacy (that is, rip-offs) of the feature film.



Disc 4 – Bonus Material:
Divided into the categories Inception, Pre-production, Production, Post-production, Release and Legacy.



Disc 5 - Work Print Version & More Bonus Material:
This may include Channel 4’s Edge of Bladerunner doc.

They had me at "removing the wire from the spinner," back two years ago when I first heard of this.

Me too! That's ALWAYS bothered me. Octopunk had a Spinner toy, which he ruined.

'Scuse me? I contend they ruined the toy by putting the die-cast mandibles or whatever those things are up in "street" position. (I know that makes no sense, so click here to see what I'm talking about. Notice also the horrifying amount of visible Spinner cable in the screenshot.

So yes, I removed the Spinner's wheels so I could surgify those mandible wheel-cover things and put them right. Those Spinners are in my "toys to fix (alter)" box at my house. When I get around to it, you're totally going to be jealous.

That toy is so far away from the actual Syd Mead vehicle design in the movie that you get points for even seeing a way to fix it. Seriously.
