I love the new blog! It's packed with hilarious/useful tips. Perhaps you should provide some video of you kicking ass?

I concur, JPX. I would like very much to get into a video war a la King Of Kong so we can determine who really is the true Miz Pac Master. (It's me, and he knows it.)

I won't go so far as to say that his supposed "high score" is tainted with performance-enhancing drugs.

But his supposed "high score" is tainted by performance enhancing drugs.

It's on mofo. 50 Page & Octo should also be involved as they have some game. (I'd invite JPX but he's just plain terrible at every video game ever made aside from Tempest.)

I could beat you at Centipede any day!

I would like to suggest the rest of the month of March as Ms. Pac-a-mania Month.

We should all freely start posting photos or videos on the Ms. Pac Blog of high scores, with the culmination and deadline being Wrestlemania XXVI, 7pm on Sunday March 28. Highest published score wins the title of Champion Of The Universe For All Time.

Wrestlemania has nothing to do with Ms. Pac, just thought it made a nice framework.

That's the best idea I've ever heard.

Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabadoo.

That's the worst name I ever heard.

Anyway, I think some ground rules are in order, which only the vaunted Honor System can enforce.

Due to my severely retarded schedule & overall availability, I'm only going to be able to log some serious attempts over the weekend. (Or maybe one or two dozen games on weeknights, depending...) Shall we put some sort of cap on attempts per day or per week?

Also, the game system is pretty critical. I've got the Plug n Play joystick, but I don't know if it's the same one you've got, with Mappy and whatnot. I also have a working N64 with the Namco Classics game. Granted, no two versions of the game are the same, whether on a cartridge or on a cocktail table. Should there be consideration given to the system? I'm of the opinion that Plug n PLay is the most challenging version.

And also, 3 lives? 5 lives? Extra Life set at 10,000 points? (If settings are an option, depending on the system...)

Let us celebrate this arrangement with the adding of chocolate to milk.

I have the same plug n play with Mappy. Ms. Pacman is tough as balls. I finally broke 100,000 a week ago after 2 years of trying. Other than that I only have the arcade classic playstation I'd have to dust off. Oh, and it's on my IPOD. We could have an arcade version going too.

This is quite exciting.

Johnny Sweatpants said...

Mappy is an excellent game by the way. After getting to know it I would throw it up there in the top 10 arcade games ever somewhere between Street Fighter 2 and Burgertime.

Hmmm...Top 10 Arcade, in no particular order:

Tempest
Street Fighter II
Mortal Kombat I
Ms. Pac Man
Galaga
Qix (yes, fucking Qix)
Donkey Kong Jr
Super Sprint
Toobin' (I don't care, I love it)

Top 10 Console:
Super Mario Kart (SNES version)
Street Fighter II (SNES version)
Rygar
Zelda
Mario 64
Shadows of the Empire
Super Mario 3
Tetris
Super Mario Galaxy
Castlevania

So I say we either agree on the Plug n Play as the platform of choice, or N64 vs Playstation versions. That'll lead to the most even playing field.

And we should also track alcohol consumption per game. The highest score with the highest intake clearly will demonstrate who really Is The Man. But you gotta be tops in both.

No Red Bull, unless there's vodka in it.

HandsomeStan said...

Yeah there's only 9 arcade games listed. I rushed it.

Johnny Sweatpants said...

Pac Jr would round out that list nicely.

Shadows of the Empire was awesome, especially the Boba Fett stage.

Also it should be Mortal Kombat 2 not 1. Baraka.
