Anniephobic

I passed by a poster for a Walnut Creek production of Annie this morning and I was struck with the following thought: whenever I see someone new dressed up like Annie I get all creeped out. There’s something about the wig and the stupid red dress fills my soul with dread.

Anyway just thought I'd share. Carry on.

Goddamn I amuse myself! HAHAHAHA! Doesn't the 2nd one look like an old lady?

I have to say I feel the same way. In fact I have never seen the entire production of Annie, I just can't stomach it. When it comes around and they run ads for it I have to change the channel before I hear her screeching out "Tomorrow". I think I just made myself shudder.

The last picture killed me!

I'm biased because I despise musicals as a whole but, yeah, Annie might be the worst offender of them all. Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, oh fuck you.

Hmm. I might've jumped on that bandwagon prior to a few years ago, but I've changed my opinion about readheads.

I saw a production of Annie when I was a kid and fell for the whole thing hook, line and sinker. Listened to the soundtrack again and again. Later those deeds would haunt me as the true nature of those songs became clear and I knew I had no hope of getting them out of my brain bones.

By true nature I don't mean any secret underlying features, just to realize the level of cheese being blasted in my head on a wave of brassy music and brassy sentiment.

Shudder.

Each of those pictures is terrifying for a different reason. Except the last one. She can come over for dinner some time.

So homely

LOL Octo.

The first one looks like Ronnette Polaski walking over the bridge in a traumatized state after and evening with Bob.

I'm sure I fell for it even more then Octo. But I'm a sucker for musicals. (Sorry, JPX) The thing that did bug me later is that the hair is SO awful. Whose bright idea was it to make it look so much like pubic hair?

I saw it on Broadway when I was in maybe fifth grade, so of course I loved it. But the hairstyle really doesn't do redheads justice.
