Now that's more like it!

During a recent trip top Target I snapped the above picture as employees were readying the aisles for Halloween. I was finally able to make it back to Target this weekend and snapped the below (after)shot.

Nothing makes my heart swell more than seeing an aisle brimming with scary possibilities. Sure most of the stuff is utter crap but I don’t mind. It’s the VIBE I’m talking about here! There’s something about all that orange and yellow that gets my adrenaline going. Horrorthon begins in 11 days…

Your seasonal enthusiasm is rubbing off on me, JPX.

I'm going to try to get back my reviewing mojo from my rookie Horrorthon season to make up for my lame participation last year.

20 or bust this time.

I think the film noir theme helped me the first time around, rather than the hodge podge of last time, so this year I'm going to try to go back through all the Hitchcocks I haven't seen.

Go Landshark!

I'm sure you all know I'm ready. Thinking of doing a creepy kids theme this year. Can't wait, so excited...eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I'm loving it all, too! And I am also determined to have a better showing this year. I think Landshark is right - a theme might make me more focused as well. Eleven days to figure it out!
Actually, more like seven so I can get them from Netflix in time!

I don't know why I put the comma in that first sentence.

I'm determined to write a review for each movie I watch. I've also been working on a theme. It was last minute, but I think I've got a pretty good list together. I'll post the details soon.

love hearing about the different themes you all are considering.

i plan on viewing horror classics, horror crapola, and stephen king movies, guided judiciously by fitty's handy list (no, jpx, i will not watch all the stephen king horror movies).

this year's goals:

- would love to hit 20 reviews this year ala landshark's ambition.

- the first movie has to be a quality horror film. it helps me calibrate later reviews, and reminds me why we all do this.

- i want to post at least one film that's never been reviewed on the blog. i have one juicy stinker lined up that presumably no one else will get to before i do.

- i want to write up my reviews as soon as possible after viewings, and get 'em up as soon as possible, otherwise the reviews hang over my head like *ugh* work.

- and a shout out to streaming netflix, which makes october a much more humane month.

horrorthon!!!
