Bone Sickness

 (2004) *1/2

A woman desperate to cure her terminally ill husband who has a degenerative bone disease seeks the help of his best friend for some unconventional treatment. They begin feeding the patient the bones of the dead. When old bones from the graves they rob make him throw up worms they decide he needs fresher bones. But the treatment comes with consequences, the dead begin to rise and they are pissed.

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms!
Big fat juicy ones,
Eensie weensy squeensy ones,
See how they wiggle and squirm!

Ugh, where do I begin. This cheesy home shot gore fest borders on being SBIG but doesn’t quite make the cut. If they had only ended the film after what appeared to be the real climactic moment they might have had a shot at being SBIG but nooooooo they had to drag it out for another fifteen minutes of boring footage. Don’t waste your time.

Can I admit that it took me several minutes to figure out SBIG? I guess I just did. Bummer for me that I opened this page just as I was taking a bite out of a bagel. Blerg.

I love that after the patient throws up worms, the conclusion drawn isn't "this is a bad idea" but "it's a good idea, we're just not doing it right."

Did that wormy picture remind any one else of Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald Kids In the Hall Nobody Like Us skit?
