A single mom is doing her best to raise her odd son under difficult circumstances. The child has behavioral issues including an obsessive fear of monsters. When he finds a picture book called "Mr. Babadook" their lives take yet another turn for the worse.
What I enjoyed most about this movie was the slow build of dread and the great performance by the lead actress. Without going into spoil-y details, I'm a little mixed about the ending, and would like to discuss once everyone who wants to has seen it. Or maybe I just need to watch it again and make up my own damn mind.

I loved this movie and completely agree with your rating! Very psychological. I tried to buy the book portrayed in the movie but it was sold out!
I'd also like to discuss the ending at some point.
This was my first watch for Horrorthon :)
My attempts to discuss the ending without spoilers. If you don't think I can do it, DO NOT read below...
I liked the ending, but it was very different from how the film started. The "reveal" disappointed me - it was obvious, but they didn't dwell on it too much to the point where the ending treats the viewer like we don't know what's really going on.
I am not reading your comment, Trevor because I would like to watch this one. Glad you enjoyed it, AC!
I liked the ending and thought it was probably foreshadowed. When I post my review I'll make the comment section spoiler friendly as it looks like most people have already seen it.
I’ve been intrigued by this one so I didn’t read Trevor’s comment either. So you’ll have to choose accordingly from the following choices:
__ You’re so right, Trevor! Even though I saw it the same way, you’ve given me a lot to think about.
__ What the fuck movie were you watching, fool!?!
(There’s no middle ground.)
