"Dark Knight" Upsets Hong Kong

From darkhorizons, With most of the filming on "The Dark Knight" finished, the last bit of shooting looks to have hit a minor snag reports The New York Times.

A nine-day location shoot (with helicopters) is planned this November in Hong Kong and local politicians have become worried that the production could disrupt traffic and cause noise pollution.

Scenes will include a car chase in the Central business district, a helicopter flyover over the Victoria Harbour, some shooting in Queen's Road Central and a fight scene at the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, the longest escalators in the world."

Reports indicate that these scenes will be serving as the actual locations, not doubles for Gotham City, and it's the only scenes in the film set outside Gotham (those scenes were all shot in London and Chicago).

The council is currently considering the application.
