Feast II: Sloppy Seconds

(2008) **1/2

This continues the saga of the man eating beasts that mysteriously terrorize a pub full of patrons in the first film. See JPX's review of Feast here.

This time it's a renegade group of misfits fighting off a number of these ravenous beasts. The misfits, including a biker queen and two midget wrestlers known as Thunder and Lightening spend the entire film trying to figure out how to beat these monsters.

Unlike it predecessor, this is more comedy than horror. The problem is they try to hard to be funny and most of the time just wind up being gross. It's not a total bomb, it does have a few redeeming moments. Just not enough to really save the films dignity.

There are some unnecessary shots thrown in for laughs that are just well, unnecessary. For example, one of the midgets comes running naked from a trailer and his penis is nearly as long and thick as his leg. It's not a one shot either, they show it bouncing along as he runs off. It's like watching a teenage boy's sense of humor brought to life. Some may like this film more then I did. I found it to be over the top in every way it could be and it just didn't work for me.

Cat, you always leave out the important part! Was it his real penis?

Perhaps this can be grouped with Watchmen in a Too Much Strange Dick category.

If that was his real penis then the dude is a tripod. No freakin' way!

Intriguing pictures though. I like the look of the creatures. I've been curious about the first one but can't bring myself to watch it for some reason. Oh wait, I know the reason - it looks positively disgusting!
