Obscure Marvel Superheroes Might Get Short Films

From iwatchstuff, With a film based on the relatively-obscure DC character Jonah Hex currently looking like a real jerk at the box office, Marvel has reportedly decided this might be a good time for a new strategy of putting out superhero films about guys no one but nerds have heard of. According to Latino Review, the studio has decided to introduce lesser known Marvel characters in the same way studios once introduced new jingoistic propaganda to get us to save our nylon for the War effort: with pre-feature shorts, allowing audiences to have just a taste of Dr. Strange before Marvel decides if they want to buy a full wardrobe of high-collared capes. The shorts would be about ten minutes in length, and would "introduce secondary characters like Black Panther, Luke Cage, Dr. Strange" (i.e. black characters and magicians). And I assume if the characters proved popular in shorts--like Bugs, Daffy, and the rest of the Loony Tunes character did in their shorts--the studio would eventually get them all together in a space-oriented film with Michael Jordan.

That sounds awesome! Although it's gross that Luke Cage gets a short film while there's been an Ant Man feature in the works for a few years.
