Two moons on 27th August 2010

27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

That's awesome, but I think the word is "culminate" not "cultivate."

So if we show this to Zack, will he wonder for years and years where the second moon is? Until we can finally explain it to him when he's old enough to understand? Could something like this really mess a kid up?

That is totally cool! I hope I can stay awake to see it. Damn, that makes me sound old.

That sounds great but I have trouble believing "It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye." I guess we'll see.

hate to burst everyone's bubble, but it's a hoax.

Goddamn Mars people! Curse your green, oily hides!

Man, I wish there was a better word for "Mars people."

I guess the statment that I doubted was meant to include "if you're looking through a 75x telescope." Ah.

Thanks a lot, 50p, why couldn't you let well enough alone, why can't I be allowed to wallow in ignorance? You could've had a laugh imaging me staring at the sky like Luke Skywalker on Tatooine.

This is a hoax..... so dont worry about setting the alarms. I thought it was true too until one of my friends looked it up. I then looked it up again. Mars cant actually ever be that big in comparison to the moon and in August it isnt at its brightest.
