subacorr -- when we spoke on the phone, you mentioned something about the landing gear and i'm noticing that in the cargo hold picture, the bottom fin is off to the side, but i can't tell if it splits or just veers and something else sticks down to counterbalance it. it's a great color and shape, and i think it all dovetails (or fishtails) nicely with the backstory. bonus points for the best captured villain.
erotavoyager -- good sleek design. the best of the "freighter" entries, the rest of which are too stud heavy on the wide pieces. good bounty hunter, but the beard/face combo doesn't quite work out.
broken regret -- a tad stud-heavy, but who cares. love the curved, warped look. the toothy exterior makes it seem semi-organic. great bounty hunter.
scavenger 1 -- really like the bulged front pieces on the rockets.
eternity -- good colors. also really like the red "vertebrae" effect in the midsection.
twin sunset -- great concept. love the Zero-style design of the craft, especially that the rockets are box-shaped. great bounty hunter too. it's blocky, but the creator managed to avoid the problem of having too many studs on the wide faces.
Very cool, I admire your patience.
Fabulous. As expected.
Awesome, awesome!! I'll have to go through the contest thread when I have more time, but I'm sure not a one can compare to yours.
I actually just went through the whole 14-page thread (slow day around here), and without blog-bias, I can say in all honesty that yours is the best. There are some kick-ass designs, but Subacorr rules.
I've gotta go get my 10 crates of bricks out of my parents' closet...
Actually, "Kraven" and "Pheonix" might give you a run for the money.
I'm so jealous.
great work octopunk!
I finally took some time from work to scroll through all the entries, and there's no doubt that you came in and stole it at the last minute!
Man, this thing took over our apartment for quite a few days! Great work!
i didn't realize there were other pages. there's a bunch more i'd add to my list of favorites, but i think the best one that isn't yours is the Lionfish.
It's fabulous - great color choice, by the way. I agree with JSP, it's a perfect ship for Bossk. Did you make it up as you went along or did your draw it out first? Could you build it again if you dropped it?
