Camel spiders are the scariest things I've ever seen

I have a patient who has a son fighting in Iraq and she mentioned that he encoutered these things. Shudder.

Holy Shit - as a general rule, I don't usually kill spiders - but that is one scary mo-fo. I would want to have a large military gun by my side if I came into contact with one of those things.

My deployment team went to Prince Sultan Air Base (the middle-of-the-desert base after the bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi) in '98. I would have been over my time in service by two days upon our return, and the team went without me. They loved to tell stories about the spiders. While the snakes and scorpions were more dangerous, the spiders were so aggressive they actually attacked whatever you used to move them out of your tent, brooms, magazines, etc... just another reason to love the Middle East...if the bullets, bombs or heat don't get ya, you have to dodge the extras from Arachnophobia.

Honestly, those are so absolutely horrifying that I would be psychologically scarred for life if I ever encountered one. I makes me profoundly sad that we live in a world where such a creature exists.

It would make for a great horror movie though!

I think the spiders would scare me more! I don't even want to see one of those things behind glass. I just can't imagine seeing one of these things in real life.

Johnny brings up a good point. How about Camel Spiders On A Plane? That's much worse than snakes.
