Frontiers
(2007) *** ½
Let's just call this Hostel a la Francaise. There is a revolution and Paris is riddled with brutal riots. A group of young thieves think they are in luck when they find a friendly little Inn to stay at. What they've actually stumbled onto is a torture palace run by a group of cannibalistic neo Nazis led by a former SS officer, Le Von Geisler .
Yet another entry in extreme French horror. The main character is a young woman named Yasmine who seriously snaps somewhere in the midst of the continuous brutal torture that takes place here.
We are introduced to many odd characters living in this place which can only be described as hell. The film starts off in one direction, the thieves trying to escape to Amsterdam with stolen money. It only turns disturbingly violent when they get lured into the Inn. It all seems too good to be true. Free room for the night & free sex too with two hot mamas. Once they realize it really is too good to be true they are trapped. At that point it just explodes from one brutal scene to the next.
Cool film if you can stomach the blood bath and torture. I give it a solid hell yeah!

Again with the Nazis! History has given us the best villains of all time. "extreme French horror"? I never knew such a genre existed. It's always the quiet countries that you have to watch out for.
Well the French do love a good revolution.
That's true about history and all, but it's harder to get scared by former SS personell as more time goes buy. That guy's minimally... what? Like eighty years old?
Zombies never get
a break. How 'bout good zombies
Fighting killer nuns?
I would SO watch that movie, Mr. AC!
DCD, I think there is enough skill, talent and creativity among the Horrorthonners to make this idea a reality. It could spawn a new genre, or at least a bunch of sequels.
Let's do it! I'll be happy to do the make up :)
I like the idea but is there such a thing as a good zombie? Zombies aren't good or evil, they're just brainless flesh craving monsters.
Pethaps these "good" zombies could have an insatiable hunger for soy products, and a mindless urge to give shiatsu massage, help old women cross the street, and carry heavy bags for people. Granted, the zombies wouldn't have any kind of moral compass or understanding of what they were doing, but non-zombies might perceive them as good, and attribute certain positive attributes to them based on the zombie's apparently pro-social behavior.
Mr. AC you really need to watch "Fido"
