Captain America offered to Chris Evans

From ew, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Chris Evans has officially been offered the role of Captain America. If the Fantastic Four actor were to accept the role, he would sign on for up to three Captain America movies, as well as The Avengers films. Evans might have a conflict, though, according to Hollywood Reporter: The actor is scheduled to shoot What’s Your Number? with Anna Faris this summer at the same time that America is poised to begin filming. Marvel, the studio behind the film, is not commenting.

It's at this point that I must point out that he stayed at the Hotel where I work and I met him. I'm cool.

He's a great actor. (Don't judge him based on Fantastic Four alone.) There's a Danny Boyle sci-fi/horror thriller called Sunshine that he's excellent in. One of my favorite movies of the last ten years BTW.

I just watched Sunshine a few weeks ago and I thought it was great. My fave sci-fi of recent days is Moon.

I can't believe they point out his scheduling conflict and fail to mention the same actor will be playing two different prominent Marvel Universe characters. When they do the big Avengers/Fantastic Four crossover movie, Cap and Human Torch will have to stand on opposite sides of a strategically positioned hat stand or lamp.

They're not even paying attention.
