I forgot about Trick R Treat!
From bloodydisgusting, It's a damn shame that Warner Bros. bumped Michael Dougherty's awesome Halloween movie, Trick 'r Treat to an undetermined 2008 date. With the holidays looming close all sorts of goodies have been unveiled from the film, especially the doll over at Sideshow Collectibles. Today we got word on two masks that were developed to be sold in conjunction with the film being released in October, which obviously isn't happening. Either way you can pre-order these sweet items by reading on.
[JPX] I still think that the masks from Halloween III are cooler,
Damn, now I want to watch Halloween III again.

Halloween III is one of those "mad scientist" flicks where the motive of the bad guy is unclear. Here's how the evil Conal Cochran explains why he's killing all the children,
"Do I need a reason? Mr. Kupfer was right, you know ... I do love a good joke and this is the best ever, a joke on the children. But there's a better reason ... you don't really know much about Halloween ... you thought no further than the strange custom of having your children wear masks and go out begging for candy. It was the start of the year in our old Celtic lands, and we'd be waiting ... in our houses of wattles and clay. The barriers would be down, you see, between the real and the unreal, and the dead might be looking in ... to sit by our fires of turf. Halloween ... the festival of Samhain! The last great one took place three thousand years ago, when the hills ran red ... with the blood of animals and children. To us, it was a way of controlling our environment. It's not so different now ... it's time again. In the end ... we don't decide these things, you know ... the planets do. They're in alignment, and it's time again. The world's going to change tonight, doctor, I'm glad you'll be able to watch it. And ... Happy Halloween."
Er, you didn't really answer the question, Conal. The only thing I understood was 'begging for candy'. Seriously, why kill everyone?
It's okay to have an insane villain but less fun when that villain's rants take the form of meandering old man babble. Still, good movie.
I'm totally going to tell stories like that when I'm old. Heck, I tell them now.
The explanation satisfied me but he could have shortened it to "Because I'm a crazy pagan, that's why".
