Paul Newman Dies at 83.

(Sad. Still can't flip by Butch and Sundance without watching the whole damn thing.)

From CNN.com- Paul Newman, the legendary actor whose steely blue eyes, good-humored charm and advocacy of worthy causes made him one of the most renowned figures in American arts, has died of cancer at his home in Westport, Connecticut. He was 83.

You beat me to the punch! I was just about to post this. That sucks, he's one of the last of the classy actors.

I just saw him on TV recently, on a Barbara Walters special about fighting age. Some of the special was about science actually fighting the aging process, but there was a segment about how Paul Newman raced stock cars on closed tracks to keep himself spry.

He was very cool when she spoke with him. She asked if the cars were about staving off old age and he said "Stave off old age? I'm over 80 years old, I'm there already."

Rest in peace, big guy.

One of my all time favorites, he always had that quiet coolness about him. My favorite is "The Hustler", I've watched it dozens of times and it never gets old. And who could forget "Cool Hand Luke". The man was a real class act.

I echo everyone's sentiments - he did always seem cool. He and Joanne Woodward have been married for 25 years too. I'm with AC on "The Sting," always loved that movie.
