Miner's Massacre (aka Curse of the Forty-Niner)

(2003) **

After hearing from her brother stating that he found a long lost gold mine, Claire and her friends decide to go and stake the claim. They travel out to this nearly abandoned, save for a few locals living in the hills, old west town. But there's one problem...

...this nasty old long dead miner is not ready to give up his gold. The friends are literally "picked" off one by one. Seems that old miner will stop at nothing to protect his claim.

Only redeeming quality of this flick is the appearance of Karen Black, the indisputable queen of b-film horror flicks.

This old fella should have remained on the dvd shelf for about a century more if you ask me.

I'm guessing that the creepy ghost-town building pictured is the only set for the whole movie, right? It almost sounds like your rating is too generous. I guess the miner is kind of cool looking.

Cat, that's too bad, it would be really cool to hear of a good horror/western hybrid.

It does seem like you are being generous, although pick-axes are pretty neat.
