One False Move

(1992) ***½

Two ex-con drug dealers, Pluto (Michael Beach) and Ray (Billy Bob Thornton), along with Ray’s girlfriend Fantasia (Cynda Williams) brutally murder an entire household during a drug deal. They go on the run from Los Angeles. Fantasia talks them into letting her go on to her hometown in Arkansas where they will meet up after the boys make a run to Texas to offload their goods. Unbeknownst to them, local sheriff Dale 'Hurricane' Dixon (Bill Paxton) and two LA detectives are waiting for them in Fantasia’s hometown.

This early work written by Billy Bob Thornton is a pretty nice effort. The initial slayings at the drug deal are well thought and brutal. The story is believable, no gaping holes. Most impressive is the explosive finale scene, excellent. I was not disappointed in the least.

Cool - I'll definitely check this one out. A Simple Plan (also starring Paxton & Billy Bob) is one of my very favorite movies... EVER!
