FOTC to hit Boston

*sigh*
I really am trying to go to fewer concerts this year, but things just keep coming up that I don't want to miss.
Any other east coast Thonners up for Flight of the Conchords?
Friday April 17th (I know, the day before the Dead), 8pm, Agganis Arena near BU.
Presale starts Tuesday at 10am.
Let me know if there is any interest.

I think I'm interested, what do tickets go for? Wow, Between Whirly and I we have Primal Scream, Brian Jonestown, Fleetwood Mac, The Dead (Whirly) and now this? Damn!

damn is right, especially since those shows are just in march and april. in addition to those and the conchords, i will probably go to springsteen since many people say he is great live, and more importantly, i can just stroll over to the garden after work and T home after the show.

conchords tix are 38.50 plus fees.

I saw Springsteen and he was fantastic. I was never a fan of his miusic but his live performance made me a convert. What are the details on the show?

Damn! I really want to go to this one but I don't think it's gonna be doable. I wish they were coming in the summer instead, damn!

ARGH!! I was all for this but just realized it is the night of the huge (600ppl) Harvard Business School event we do every year at the hotel. No way I can get it off. Damn those Harvard Bastards!!

Dana, buy the tickets!

By the time the show rolls around, easily at least half of the HBS folks will have committed suicide...your staff can handle 300 depressed, mourning people!

AC, let me know how much Bruce tickets are please.
I may have to put my hatred of crowds (well, really my hatred of humanity) aside, since I heard the same thing about his shows, and going with two head-shrinkers would at least guarantee some good anti-psychotic meds....

AC said...

miko! what a treat that would be. i haven't forgotten i owe you a drink, so in lieu of meds (jpx and i can't prescribe anyway) i could buy you a beer at the show.

the "cheap" bruce tix will come in at perhaps $80 including fees. we are looking at the tuesday night show at this point (guess i can miss yoga for the boss). do let me know asap because tix go onsale tomorrow at 10am and they will sell out within minutes.

AC, I'll talk to "Momma" when she gets home from work, and let you know tonight...

miko564 said...

Hmmmmmm...I wonder if I can figure out a way to expense this?

AC said...

sounds like a plan! hope momma says yes. :)

Man, I'm so jealous of you guys getting together for the Boss. He's the biggest missing gap in my "must see" concert-going. Was so pissed especially that I missed the tour 2 years ago when he hit small venues with that sessions band. Fuck that's a great great album, and seeing him in a small place would be fantastic. He's one of the few artists I'll probably break my "no arena shows" rule for someday though. Anyway, enjoy!

miko564 said...

Shark, why be jealous? You're only one state further West than me...find your way towards Philly and let me know where to pick you up...I'll move the pile of papers from the front seat to the pack, and we're off!
Come on! You surely have some eager TA who would love to fill in for a day or two, and power-trip the hell out of the under-grads.

AC, after the half-time show...I'm in! The kid can wear his diapers for a couple extra hours...Daddy needs some dough for a concert! Do you want me to buy my own ticket, or should I send you the money?

AC said...

excellent, please thank the swede from me! i'll buy the tickets so you and jpx and i can sit together, and you can pay me when you see me.

wish me luck in acquiring said tickets. i may be a few minutes late to a meeting, but i have my priorities straight.

JPX said...

Miko, you won't be disappointed. I was never a Springsteen fan until I saw his "Seeger sessions" show. He is just amazing live. I just picked up his new CD and I'm really digging it.

AC said...

hah hah! jpx, miko and i are gonna see the boss!

JPX said...

AC, do you have special concert credit card?

AC said...

no, but that's not a bad idea!

Catfreeek said...

AC I have to decline on FOTC, I just can't swing it time wise. Damn, I really want to see them :(

Landshark said...

Nice work, AC!

miko, Philly is a bit far, and that's my last week of classes.

I might grab some ticks for the May 7 show in Toronto though. My college roommate has a sweet pad there that I can use, and it's about a 4 hour drive.

Well now I feel bad for revealing how much I hate Bruce Springstein...

Thanks a lot jerks!

I mean, did you see the superbowl performance? "How many of you feel alive?"
