New Member of the Miko Clan

No, we have no idea what he is either...

The whole fam went to one of the shelters nearby, that just got in about 16 puppies, saved from a "Kill" shelter in the South on Tuesday. Amelia picked this guy out while Mom and Dad were looking at other pups. He is super-friendly, and cute in a "what the hell is in that Mutt?" kinda way. So we will have to replace the carpets for sure in about 6 months...

MIKO lives! I'm still expecting a haiku out of you one of these days. Hmm, let me try,

MIKO liked the blog
Then one day he disappeared
Come back, MIKO

Miko, notice that JPX mentions nothing about this adorable puppy. It’s because he’s a dog hater. I, on the other hand, think the puppy is adorable. I’m so excited that you got him from a shelter. That’s the best way to do it. I got one of my dogs from Labs 4 Rescue. She came all the way from Tennessee with the traditional southern double name. My sister recently got a dog from a foster home in Maine. She’s five years old and blind. The poor thing had been in foster care her whole life. My sister figured not many people would want a blind dog and since she’s had two already she doesn’t mind. She said you wouldn’t even know the dog is blind and she plays like crazy with her nutty Jack Russell pup.

he's gorgeous! what's his name?

As I commented on your blog - totally freakin' adorable!!

Whirly, you are in a relationship with somebody who doesn't like dogs?!! WTF? That's just wrong...

We have no name for the little guy yet...we keep kickin' around names, but nothing is sticking.

I thought I might call him Rico (you know, rhymes with Miko), but then every time I said his name I would have to say SUUUAAAAAve. That would get annoying for everyone else in a few years...

Soooooo, any suggestions as to a good moniker would be welcome.

BTW, JPX, there will be no haiku from me...

I don't hate dogs!

Johnny Sweatpants said...

Puh-lease, you're not fooling anyone but yourself JPX!

Not only does he hate dogs folks, he loathes all species of animals (not to mention 99.9% of humans). The only animal he ever loved was his childhood cat Autumn who, by the way, was ugly as sin and had the personality of a paintbrush.

Never trust anyone who hates animals is what I always say.

What JSP says is so true. JPX never comes to my apartment because of my cat.

i would like to interrupt the jpx bashing long enough to say that rico is a fab name for that pup.

suave could be his middle name.

MIKO, I tell JPX all the time that there's something wrong with him, but he thinks I'm abnormal because I like dogs better than people. Dogs are one topic that JPX and I will never agree on.

Whirlygirl said...

He does look like he could be a Rico or maybe a Hamlet.

I like Rico as well or Chewy. He's adorable and by the size of his paws I'd say he's got quite a lot of growing to do.

Also, I guess JPX coming to my 5 cat household for a post Halloween Horrorthon bash is just totally out, huh.

Oh, I love a good JPX bash, I do.

Congrats on the new puppy, Miko! I think Rico is pretty good but I'd have the same problem. Even if I didn't actually say "Suave" every time, I'd say it in my head.

JSP - that comment about the cat had me laughing out loud!! "personality of a paintbrush." is classic!

Ditto on the Rico (SUUUAAAAAve) thing. In fact I said that in my head before I even got to your next sentence. I also think he kind of looks like a Buster. Although that's not a very original name.

DCD, that's funny...the reason we have had two dogs for years, is because I saw a puppy and named him Buster before I got him...of course he was gone before I got "mama" to approve his purchase.
Sooo, that name is still out there.

It's weird, the other dogs told me what to call them right away...I guess the medication made the doggie voices go away...sigh.
