(1976) ***
Dr. Leonard Chaney is driving down the road with his daughter Nancy when they get into an accident. Shattered glass gets in to Nancy's eyes and she is blinded. Out of guilt, the Doctor becomes obsessed with giving Nancy her sight back. He begins stalking and capturing people so he can take their eyes out and put them in Nancy. The operation fails over and over again and the Doctor has a cage full of people with empty eye sockets in his basement. What he doesn't know is that they are digging their way out. I'm not going to give any more away than that.
I first saw this movie at the Seekonk Twin drive-in when I was in high school. So, you know I was totally wasted and the only thing I could remember was the cage full of empty socket people. We found a copy of this a few years back at a flea market. Since I was actually with my hubby in his car when I watched this in the late 70's, we looked at each other and had to buy it. Much to my delight digital remastering had not found it way to this dvd. The picture & sound quality are just like the drive-in and I tell you, I wouldn't have it any other way. So take my rating with a grain of salt, this movie and me have history. It's a classic 70's style flick and I love every minute of it.

Forgot to mention, there are early appearances in this film by Lance Hendriksen and Vic Tayback (Mel, the diner owner from the show Alice)
Sounds excellent!
"the Doctor has a cage full of people with empty eye sockets in his basement"
That right there? That is reason enough to try to find this one.
