Chronicles of Riddick 2: Still Sucking

From IESP, "While promoting FIND ME GUILTY, his latest release based on the true story of Giacomo “Jackie Dee” DiNorscio, Vin Diesel sat down with a roundtable of internet reviewers and journalists. A hot topic was the possibility of another "Chronicles of Riddick."

He had this to say; “My God. It took me five years to get The Chronicles of Riddick made, so hopefully it won't take five years for the next one."

Vin discussed the storyline he originally conceived for Riddick.

“Well, the Chronicles of Riddick were written - at least the outline - and conceived as a trilogy to follow the prequel. Just like 'Lord of The Rings' is a trilogy that picks up more or less after 'The Hobbit', Riddick is supposed to be the first of three films that follow 'Pitch Black.'"

He was then asked about a rumor that he was going to, or was in the process of buying the rights to Riddick from Universal.

“Where'd you hear that?” quipped a jovial Diesel.

Still smiling, he added, “That's a very, very interesting idea. That's something that I should look into.”

Mr. Diesel was being rather playful and coy about a rumor that he didn't outright deny."

Blag! So instead of one more suck movie, we're meant to take TWO more? Sheesh. And dammit, even if Pitch Black is destined to play a role like "The Hobbit" plays to LOTR, it's not a prequel! It came out first!
