While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, Superman faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she? In an attempt to protect the world he loves from cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space.

Gah! He's awful! One thing I liked about the TV show Lois and Clark was that they made Jimmy a bit of bad-kid-on-a-new-path, but he knew how to pick locks and stuff. This guy looks more like the traditional simpering toady.
And he's so friggin' ugly!
He's got high school reject hair.
He looks like Tucker Carlson (the conservative weenie on CNN). Carlson wears a bow tie, which prompted a Slate commentator to hilariously remark, "The bow tie makes a very clear fashion statement: 'I have no penis.'"
The problem with Jimmy Olsen AND Lois Lane is that we're dealing not just with sterotypes but with NINETEEN-THIRTIES stereotypes. Lois Lane is re-fried Rosalind Russel from "His Girl Friday" (like what's her name in Hudsucker Proxy). From Margot Kidder to Teri Hatcher, the character soaks up each decade's annoying "career woman" stereotypes because they're just unavoidable given the basic story dynamics. Maybe Kate Beckinsdale will break the trend and be good. She certainly can't be any worse than Katie "distorted sideways pig face" Holmes who was like Kim Basinger without the Kim Basinger.
Katie "distorted sideways pig face" Holmes.
There was a time when I liked Katie Holmes (circa Ice Storm), but THAT is freakin' funny, my friend.
