A series of grisly murders are taking place. What they all have in common is that the victims are found without brains. As detective Manabu delves further into the case it becomes apparent that something supernatural is going on.

I really enjoyed this film it reminded me of an old Columbo episode. The older detective Manabu works with even wears a Columboesque trench coat. There is just the right amount of humor properly injected so it becomes entertaining but not campy.
The supernatural aspect mimics a pattern I've seen in several other films, however the actual cause, so to speak, is quite unique. The opening scene is quite funny and sets the pace beautifully. I don't want to give much away so I will end by saying this one was quite a pleasant surprise.

Seems to be a trend
Both of your J Horror picks
Have cops in trenchcoats
Gotta love a cop in a trench coat.
I'm psyched to see some positive J-horror reviews - it seemed that trend had kind of gotten in a rut. Or maybe it was just the (mostly) lame US remakes.
sounds cool, catfreeek!
Cool, sounds fun. You know, I'm not sure I've ever seen a Columbo episode.
