Edgar Allan Poe: Tales of Mystery & Imagination

(1995) **

Ok, well I recall starting reading about Poe in fifth grade. This first part of the TV mini series does not to the stories justice. I was lost through the first one(Fall of the House of Usher), realizing that it was about a cross dresser who pretended to be his sister? I don't know, cause I was lost! The acting was horrible and the scenery was grainy. The second one(The Oval Portrait) was better, about an artist being obsessed with his own painting of his wife. She slowly dies the more he stares at the picture. I don't remember the third one(Berenice). I only give it 2 stars for Christopher Lee's introduction-He's not even in the film! Boooo...

That dvd cover makes it look like some kind of Bergman sleeper from the 70s. 1995, really?
