Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer

(2007) *1/2

Now this is just pure silliness.

This kid, sees his whole family killed.

By this thing.

Then grows up to be this guy.

Who asks this guy for help.

First he looks like this.

Then he swallows a weird gelatinous glob.

Which transforms him to this.

And eventually this.

We don't know what these guys have to do with anything.

But we get to see them fight this at the beginning of the film.

Oh the humanity!

A movie review turned into a picture book! That's awesome! It doesn't make we want to see the movie at all, but still very cool.

I think light text with heavy illustration is an excellent review format! Nice work.

I'm still not ruling out Mr. AC's haiku review idea, but I think perhaps more than one haiku might be the way to go.

I would like to echo every above sentiment. As you know from my exhaustive haiku day intros and outros, I love breaking up text with appropriate (or not) pics.

I would vote this Review Of The Day, if it wasn't for that damn Mr. AC beating me to the punch with the haiku review. I swear I thought about that in like April sometime.

(CUT TO HandsomeStan driving car around somewhere. Suddenly looks at self in rearview mirror. "That's it!" he says to himself. Continues driving.)

Some things are just better explained with pictures.

and Mr.AC is the man!

I love this, it made me laugh out loud! I think a lot of the really bad films should be reviewed in this manner!
